First steps in art

Arlex Campos, a native of the city of San Cristóbal that belongs to the state of Táchira, was born in 1994. Since he was a child, he was attracted to painting and urban art, reasons that led him to attend the Armando Reverol School of Art and Táchira State School of Art, thanks to the first glimpses of talent. According to anecdotes from those close to him, he carried materials with him to paint and draw wherever he went.

By 2011, after graduating from high school, Arlex began painting Street Art murals in localities of San Cristóbal. As soon as he became known, there were no shortage of fans, who wanted to see his art embodied. The murals in his hometown, today can be seen around the corner or in emblematic places of the capital of Tachi.

However, Arlex’s childhood was not only about art because, while he was watching painting classes, he also used to play soccer thanks to the encouragement of his mother.

This could be one reason why you have portrayed famous Venezuelan athletes and foreigners.

Shortly after leaving high school, he began his career in graphic design at the Antonio José de Sucre University, where he knew how to combine his passion for art and design processes, thus perfecting his technique of the stencil that has granted him recognition not only regionally but nationally and internationally.

Meaningful murals
Meaningful murals

His works and especially renowned murals, began in the city of San Cristóbal, such as the famous mural in honor of the captain of the Vinotinto (Venezuelan soccer team), Tomás Rincón , located in the Neighborhood Unit.

Likewise, the mural he made for the renowned Colombian athlete, Mariana Pajón , around the Medellín Pictopia Art Festival of the year 2016 , where I made history by being the first Venezuelan to appear at said event, thanks to the impact of your style and painting technique .

In addition, his style and technique reached Miami, United States , where he also portrayed Venezuelan baseball player Miguel Cabrera in a mural. This work, like the Rincón mural, has had a lot of acceptance and reception especially by the community of Venezuelan expatriates in the US

For 2018, among the most important goals at the art festival level, Arlex finally managed to expose all his talent through a mural in Wynwood , Miami . This is a work captured in a gallery of Street Art outdoors , where Many renowned urban artists in Latin America and the US have also made their mark.

In short, Arlex is an artist who is part of the Venezuelan imagination and who has also achieved represent your talent in stencil , based on influences from Cruz Ten’s Kineticism and Andy’s Pop Art Warhol, both in works made in Venezuela and in renowned cities: New York, Miami, Chicago, Medellín and Santo Domingo, among others …
